KATHMANDU, NEPAL, April 26, 2024 – Nebula Energy and Gogoro Inc (Nasdaq: GGR) have teamed up to bring Gogoro’s revolutionary battery-swapping technology to Nepal, alongside the unveiling of the Gogoro CrossOver GX250 Smart Scooter in Kathmandu. The launch event, held at Ananda Bhawan in Lazimpat Kathmandu, marked the debut of the first Gogoro battery-swapping station in Nepal, strategically located to serve the Kathmandu valley.
Mr. Kulman Ghising, Managing Director of NEA, graced the occasion as the chief guest, alongside Gogoro executive Yang Chen, jointly inaugurating Nepal’s first Gogoro battery swapping service and introducing the CrossOver GX250, designed as the ultimate Two-Wheel SUV.
Addressing the gathering, Chairman Mr. Manoj Goyal reaffirmed Nebula Energy’s commitment to spearheading Nepal’s transition towards sustainable mobility and technological advancement in partnership with Gogoro.
“We are delighted to collaborate with Nebula Energy in driving the electric evolution of Nepal’s two-wheeler sector,” stated a representative from Gogoro. “Nepal, a pioneer in clean energy adoption, is actively promoting electric vehicle (EV) adoption, and our partnership will play a pivotal role in this transformation.”
Initially, Nebula Energy will cater battery swapping services to key B2B partners and plans to deploy GoStations across Kathmandu valley, ensuring a station within every 2-3 kilometres. Retail sales of Gogoro SmartScooters will commence later this year, with availability expanding to consumers around the Dashain period. Ultimately, Nebula Energy aims to surpass the number of traditional petrol stations with Gogoro GoStations nationwide.
Managing Director Mr. Sahayu Goyal emphasised the importance of technology in driving mass-scale EV adoption in the two-wheeler segment, highlighting battery-swapping as a game-changing solution that addresses key consumer concerns.
