The TATA ACE EV emerges as a pioneering electric vehicle in the commercial segment, offering a blend of efficiency and reliability tailored for urban logistics and cargo transport. At the heart of the ACE EV’s powertrain is a 27 kW electric motor, which provides a harmonious balance between performance and energy efficiency. This motor is powered by a 21.3 kWh Lithium Ferro Phosphate (LFP) battery, renowned for its durability and safety characteristics. This combination ensures a commendable range of 154 kilometres on a single charge, catering to the daily needs of urban deliveries without the anxiety of frequent recharging.

When it comes to recharging the ACE EV, it offers flexibility with both AC home charging and DC fast charging capabilities. The CCS Type 2 AC home charging option replenishes the battery within 6 to 7 hours, making overnight charging a convenient routine. This ensures that the vehicle is ready for a full day’s work without interrupting business operations.

The design and structure of the TATA ACE EV are meticulously engineered for the rigours of urban logistics. It boasts a ground clearance of 160 mm, allowing it to navigate through city roads effortlessly. The maximum speed of 60 km/h is apt for city traffic conditions, while a maximum torque of 130 N.m ensures that the vehicle can handle loads efficiently. The rear-wheel-drive (RWD) configuration aids in better traction and handling, especially when the vehicle is fully loaded.

Dimensionally, the ACE EV is crafted to maximise utility and manoeuvrability. It stretches 3800 mm in length, stands 2235 mm tall, and has a width of 1500 mm. The wheelbase of 2100 mm provides a stable ride, and with a curb weight of 1240 kg, it strikes an excellent balance between payload capacity and vehicle efficiency. The cargo box, with dimensions of 1450 mm in height, 1410 mm in width, and 2125 mm in length, offers a substantial volume for transporting goods, supporting a payload capacity of 650 kg.

Safety and durability features of the ACE EV include an IP67 waterproof rating for its battery and electrical components, ensuring protection against dust and water ingress. However, it is noted that airbags are not available, which is a consideration for potential buyers. The vehicle rides on 155 R13LT 8PR tyres, and it employs a combination of front disc and rear drum brakes, providing reliable stopping power. The rigid front and rear suspension with leaf spring is designed to withstand heavy loads while maintaining ride comfort.

The TATA ACE EV comes with generous warranty terms, offering 6 years or 1,60,000 km (whichever is earlier) for the high voltage battery, and 3 years or 1,25,000 km for the vehicle itself, highlighting Tata Motors’ confidence in their electric vehicle’s reliability and durability.
