Yatri P2 Electric Scooter: Nepal’s Homegrown EV Enters the Mainstream
Yatri Motorcycles has officially unveiled the P2, its first electric scooter and the first major product developed under its partnership with Sipradi Trading. Designed in Nepal and manufactured in Dhading, the P2 marks Yatri’s move from premium electric motorcycles into the mainstream scooter market.
The scooter made its official debut on August 24, 2026, ahead of the 18th NADA Auto Show 2026 in Kathmandu. Yatri will begin taking pre-bookings at the auto show, while the company plans to announce the official retail price during the commercial launch in September 2026.
Yatri P2 Price in Nepal
The official price of the Yatri P2 has not been announced yet. Yatri has confirmed that pricing will come with the commercial launch in September.
Earlier reports suggested a possible price range of Rs. 3–4 lakh, but these figures were estimates rather than official pricing.
Therefore, buyers should wait for Yatri’s official announcement before treating any price circulating online as final.

The top-spec 5.2 kWh version offers a claimed 157 km range, while the 3.7 kWh and 3.0 kWh versions provide 112 km and 90 km respectively.
Built and Tested in Nepal
One of the P2’s biggest highlights is its local development. Yatri says the scooter was designed, engineered and manufactured in Nepal.
The development process involved multiple prototypes and extensive road and laboratory testing. Yatri has also tested the scooter across different Nepali terrains to improve its suitability for local conditions.
The production facility is located in Gajuri, Dhading, while Yatri’s design and engineering work takes place in Kathmandu.
Smart and Safety Features
The P2 also goes beyond basic electric mobility with several connected and safety-focused features.

- Anti-theft tracking
- Movement alerts
- Remote immobilisation
- Hill-hold assist
- Three riding modes
- 30-litre storage capacity
These features give the P2 a more technology-focused positioning than a conventional commuter scooter.
Yatri P2 Charging and Infrastructure
Yatri is also planning to support the scooter with dedicated charging infrastructure. Sipradi Yatri plans to install 35 DC charging locations across Nepal, helping P2 owners use the scooter for longer-distance travel.
The company also plans to invest around Rs. 60 crore in P2 production, with a long-term target of producing up to 50,000 units annually.
Yatri P2: A Major Step for Nepal’s EV Industry
The P2 is more than a new electric scooter for Yatri. It represents a shift toward locally designed and manufactured electric vehicles in Nepal.
With three battery options, up to 157 km of claimed range, a 10 kW motor, connected safety features and planned nationwide charging support, the P2 could become one of the most important Nepali-developed EVs yet.
The biggest missing piece remains the price. Once Yatri announces the official price in September, it will become much easier to judge how competitively the P2 can take on established electric scooters from Yadea, Ather, TVS, NIU and other brands.
