Deepal S03: Compact Electric SUV With Up to 506 km Range

Deepal S03

Deepal S03 is an upcoming compact electric SUV based on the Changan Nevo Q05, offering two battery options, a futuristic cabin and a claimed range of up to 506 km.

Deepal S03 Price in Nepal

The Deepal S03 price in Nepal has not been officially announced yet. Deepal Nepal’s current official price list includes the S05, L07, S07, S07 L and E07, but it does not list the S03 at the moment.

However, earlier Nepal reports estimated the S03 at around Rs. 40 lakh to Rs. 45 lakh. Those figures should be treated as estimates rather than confirmed launch prices.

If Deepal Nepal introduces the model in this range, the S03 could sit below the S05 and become an entry point into the brand’s S-Series.

What Is the Deepal S03?

The Deepal S03 is a compact electric SUV developed under Changan’s Deepal brand. It is closely related to the Changan Nevo Q05, which gives the S03 a compact footprint while allowing Deepal to add its own design and technology package.

More importantly, the S03 aims to bring a premium-looking EV experience into a smaller and more accessible segment.

The SUV measures 4,435 mm in length, 1,855 mm in width and 1,600 mm in height. Meanwhile, its 2,735 mm wheelbase provides a relatively spacious cabin for its size.

Specifications can vary by market and variant. Nepal-spec specifications remain subject to official confirmation.

Two Battery Options

One of the main highlights of the S03 is its choice of battery packs.

The reported Air variant gets a 40 kWh LFP battery, while the Max variant uses a larger 51 kWh LFP battery. According to reported specifications, they offer claimed CLTC ranges of 405 km and 506 km, respectively.

Therefore, buyers who prioritize a longer driving range could look toward the larger battery version.

However, these figures use the CLTC testing cycle, which generally produces higher numbers than WLTP. Consequently, real-world driving range can be lower depending on traffic, driving style, weather and road conditions.

Performance

The S03 uses a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor and sends power to the front wheels.

The international configuration can produce up to 120 kW, along with 190 Nm of torque. Some Nepal-focused reports, however, have suggested that the Nepal version could receive a lower-output 100 kW motor.

As a result, the final Nepal specification will be important when comparing the S03 with other EVs in its price segment.

For everyday driving, the front-wheel-drive layout and instant electric torque should make the S03 suitable for both urban commuting and regular highway use.

Charging

The Deepal S03 supports both AC and DC charging.

The reported Air variant can charge from 0 to 100% in around six hours using a 7 kW AC charger, while the larger-battery Max version takes around eight hours under the same conditions.

Furthermore, reports indicate that DC fast charging can take the battery from around 30% to 80% in approximately 25–30 minutes using a 60 kW charger.

However, charging times will depend on the final Nepal-spec configuration and the charging equipment available.

Futuristic Exterior Design

The S03 follows Deepal’s modern EV design language.

At the front, the SUV gets slim Smart Wing LED DRLs that stretch across the upper section. Meanwhile, the main headlights sit lower on the front fascia.

The design also uses a closed-off front section instead of the large grille found on traditional petrol SUVs. As a result, the S03 gets a cleaner EV-focused appearance.

From the side, smooth body surfaces and flush door handles help create a more aerodynamic profile. In addition, the SUV gets 17-inch or 18-inch wheels, depending on the variant.

At the rear, a full-width taillight continues the lighting theme from the front.

Interior and Technology

Inside, Deepal gives the S03 a technology-focused cabin.

The reported equipment includes a large 15.4-inch infotainment screen and a 10.2-inch digital instrument display. In addition, the cabin can feature dual-zone climate control, rear AC vents, ambient lighting and wireless smartphone charging.

The higher-spec version can also offer features such as heated and ventilated front seats, power adjustment and massage functions.

Furthermore, the S03 gets a panoramic sunroof, which adds to the open feel of the cabin.

Comfort and Practicality

Although the S03 is a compact SUV, its EV platform helps make efficient use of the available interior space.

The SUV offers seating for five passengers. Moreover, the 2,735 mm wheelbase provides useful legroom for a vehicle of this size.

For luggage, the reported configuration includes a 410-litre boot and a 60-litre front storage compartment.

Therefore, the S03 could work as a practical city EV while still offering enough storage for longer trips.

Safety and ADAS

Safety technology is another major part of the S03 package.

Reported equipment includes six airbags, a 360-degree camera, electronic stability control, tyre-pressure monitoring and parking sensors. In addition, higher-spec versions can offer advanced driver-assistance features.

Depending on the market and variant, the ADAS package can include functions such as adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping assistance.

However, buyers in Nepal should check the final equipment list because international specifications may differ from the locally supplied model.

Deepal S03: Why It Matters in Nepal

The S03 could become an important model for Deepal if the company positions it below the S05.

Deepal Nepal currently lists the S05 Plus at Rs. 57.99 lakh and the S05 Max at Rs. 62.99 lakh. Therefore, a properly priced S03 could give the brand a smaller and more affordable entry point.

At the same time, the S03 brings features normally associated with larger and more expensive EVs, including a large touchscreen, panoramic roof, ADAS technology and a choice of battery capacities.

Consequently, its final Nepal price and specifications will be key factors in determining where it sits in the local EV market.

Deepal S03 Price and Availability in Nepal

The Deepal S03 is not currently listed on Deepal Nepal’s official price list, so its official Nepal price and launch status remain unconfirmed.

Earlier reports estimated a price of around Rs. 40–45 lakh, but that figure should not be treated as the final price until MAW Vriddhi Autocorp confirms it.

Meanwhile, the S03 continues to attract attention because of its compact dimensions, modern design and claimed range of up to 506 km. If Deepal brings the model to Nepal with competitive pricing, it could expand the brand’s reach into a lower price segment.
