ARCFOX T1: A New Chinese Electric Hatchback to Watch

ARCFOX T1

China’s electric car market continues to expand, and the ARCFOX T1 is bringing a new option to budget-conscious EV buyers. Developed under BAIC Group’s premium electric vehicle brand, this compact hatchback combines modern styling, a spacious cabin, a 42.3 kWh battery and a competitive price. In Nepal, the ARCFOX T1 has already launched with prices starting at Rs. 32.96 lakh.

ARCFOX T1 Enters Nepal’s Electric Car Market

ARCFOX, the premium electric vehicle brand under China’s BAIC Group, introduced the T1 as a compact electric car with crossover-inspired styling. The model targets buyers who want an affordable EV without sacrificing cabin space or modern technology.

In Nepal, Laxmi Motorhub launched the ARCFOX T1 in August 2026. It is available in two variants: LV2 and LV3, priced at Rs. 32.96 lakh and Rs. 35.96 lakh, respectively.

Moreover, the T1’s compact dimensions and five-seat layout make it suitable for daily commuting and family use. It also enters a competitive market that includes several Chinese electric hatchbacks and compact EVs.

Modern Design With a Spacious Cabin

The ARCFOX T1 features a contemporary design that blends hatchback proportions with SUV-inspired styling. Its clean body lines, frameless windows and semi-hidden door handles give it a modern appearance.

Despite its compact positioning, the car has a relatively long wheelbase, helping create more room for passengers. The Nepal-spec model measures approximately 4,337 mm in length, 1,805 mm in width and 1,573 mm in height, with a 2,750 mm wheelbase.

Furthermore, the vehicle offers around 181 mm of ground clearance, which can be useful on uneven urban roads. However, ground clearance alone does not make it suitable for demanding off-road driving.

The overall design focuses on practicality, making the T1 an option for drivers who need an everyday electric car with a little extra visual presence.

42.3 kWh Battery and Electric Motor

The ARCFOX T1 sold in Nepal uses a 42.3 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery. Its reported Nepal-spec electric motor produces 70 kW of power and 170 Nm of torque.

The car has a claimed range of around 310 km under the WLTP testing cycle. This figure is more conservative than some higher range figures quoted for other market versions of the T1, so buyers should check the exact specification of the vehicle being offered.

In addition, the electric powertrain is designed for everyday driving, where smooth acceleration and predictable energy use matter more than outright performance.

Actual range will depend on driving speed, road conditions, passenger load, temperature and air-conditioning use. Therefore, buyers who regularly travel outside Kathmandu should consider their typical routes and charging options before purchasing.

Charging Support and Driving Modes

The ARCFOX T1 supports both AC and DC charging. With a compatible DC fast charger, the battery can reportedly charge from 30% to 80% in approximately 25 minutes.

Meanwhile, a 7 kW AC charger takes around eight hours for a full charge under suitable conditions. This makes overnight home charging a practical option for owners who have access to dedicated parking and charging facilities.

The T1 also offers four driving modes:

  • Eco
  • Sport
  • Comfort
  • Personalised

These settings let drivers adjust the driving experience to suit their preferences and conditions. Furthermore, the car supports vehicle-to-load (V2L) functionality in applicable configurations, allowing it to supply power to compatible external devices. Buyers should confirm the feature’s availability on their selected Nepal variant.

Interior Technology and Comfort

Inside, the ARCFOX T1 features a large 15.6-inch HD touchscreen that serves as the main infotainment interface. Apple CarPlay, voice control and EasyLink are among the reported connectivity features.

The cabin also includes practical charging options, including a 66W front phone-charging port and a USB Type-C port for rear passengers.

Depending on the variant, buyers may also get heated and ventilated front seats, an electric tailgate, a panoramic roof and additional convenience features.

These features help the T1 stand out in the compact EV segment. Nevertheless, equipment can vary by market and trim level, so the Nepal distributor’s specification sheet should be used to confirm what is included with each variant.

Safety Features and Driver Assistance

The ARCFOX T1 offers a range of safety and driver-assistance technologies, with availability depending on the variant.

Reported features include:

  • Anti-lock Braking System (ABS)
  • Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD)
  • Electronic Stability Control (ESC)
  • Hill-start and hill-descent assistance
  • Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS)
  • Parking sensors
  • Surround-view camera system
  • Lane Departure Warning
  • Adaptive Cruise Control on selected versions
  • Automatic Emergency Braking on selected versions

Higher-spec models may also offer additional driver-assistance functions. However, buyers should not assume every feature is standard across both Nepal variants.

Can the ARCFOX T1 Stand Out in Nepal?

The ARCFOX T1 brings a combination of compact dimensions, a modern cabin and electric power to Nepal’s increasingly competitive EV market.

Its 42.3 kWh battery and claimed 310 km WLTP range may suit everyday commuting and many routine journeys. Meanwhile, fast-charging support can help reduce downtime when compatible charging stations are available.

However, real-world range and charging access remain important considerations, particularly for drivers travelling through hilly areas or between cities.

Overall, the ARCFOX T1 is worth watching because it offers another choice in Nepal’s compact EV segment. Its long-term success will depend on real-world efficiency, after-sales support and how well its features and pricing compare with competing electric cars.
