BYD Sealion 7 Updated Version Launched in Nepal: More Power, Premium Features & Rs. 92.99 Lakh Price
The updated BYD Sealion 7 is a premium electric SUV featuring a 170 kW rear-mounted motor, 71.8 kWh Blade Battery, 440 km range and upgraded ADAS and suspension technology.
BYD has launched the updated Sealion 7 at the 18th NADA Auto Show 2026 in Kathmandu. Cimex Inc., the authorized BYD distributor in Nepal, has introduced the upgraded electric SUV at an introductory price of Rs. 92.99 lakh.
The new model brings a significant performance upgrade over the previous Nepal-spec Sealion 7. Most importantly, BYD has increased the motor output from 100 kW to 170 kW, while retaining the 71.8 kWh Blade Battery and claimed 440 km driving range. The company has also added more advanced safety, suspension and comfort features.
More Powerful 170 kW Electric Motor
The biggest change comes under the hood—or, more accurately, beneath the floor. The updated Sealion 7 uses a 170 kW rear-mounted electric motor producing 380 Nm of torque.
As a result, the new version delivers considerably stronger performance than the outgoing Nepal model, which used a 100 kW motor. The SUV uses a rear-wheel-drive configuration and can reach a top speed of around 215 km/h.

71.8 kWh Blade Battery with 440 km Range
The updated Sealion 7 retains BYD’s 71.8 kWh Blade Battery. It provides a claimed driving range of 440 km, giving the SUV enough capacity for both daily commuting and longer journeys.
Furthermore, the SUV supports DC fast charging, allowing the battery to charge from 10% to 80% in around 28 minutes. Therefore, owners can spend less time waiting at charging stations during long-distance trips.
The Sealion 7 also supports Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality, allowing the battery to power external electrical devices.
Upgraded Suspension and Driving Technology
BYD has also upgraded the chassis technology of the new Sealion 7.
The SUV now features DiSus-C adaptive damping, which adjusts suspension behaviour according to driving conditions. Consequently, the vehicle can provide a more controlled and comfortable ride while maintaining stability at higher speeds.
Moreover, the updated model introduces DiPilot 100 Level 2 ADAS. The system combines multiple driver-assistance technologies to provide additional support during highway and urban driving.
More Premium Interior and Safety Features
The updated Sealion 7 also receives several notable cabin upgrades.
Ventilated and Massaging Seats: The front seats now offer additional comfort functions, including ventilation and massage features.
Large Head-Up Display: The SUV gets a 50-inch augmented-reality head-up display, allowing important driving information to appear within the driver’s field of view.
11 Airbags: BYD has increased the vehicle’s safety equipment with 11 airbags, alongside its suite of driver-assistance technologies.
Premium Infotainment: The cabin continues to feature a large 15.6-inch rotating touchscreen, while higher-end equipment includes a premium audio system and connected vehicle technology.
Sporty Coupe-SUV Design
The Sealion 7 retains its distinctive coupe-SUV silhouette, combining a sloping roofline with the practicality of a five-seat electric SUV.
The vehicle measures 4,830 mm long, 1,925 mm wide and 1,620 mm tall, with a 2,930 mm wheelbase. It also provides a 500-litre rear boot, giving it useful space for family travel.
Furthermore, BYD’s e-Platform 3.0 and Cell-to-Body construction help integrate the battery into the vehicle structure while maximizing cabin space.
BYD Sealion 7 Price and Availability in Nepal

The new price represents an increase of around Rs. 13.14 lakh compared with the previous Nepal-spec Sealion 7, which carried a price of Rs. 79.85 lakh before the new model arrived. However, BYD has significantly upgraded the powertrain and equipment to justify the higher positioning.
