Jetour T2 Arrives in Kathmandu Ahead of October 11 Nepal Launch
The Jetour T2 has finally arrived in Kathmandu after months of delays, bringing a rugged plug-in hybrid SUV closer to its official Nepal debut.
Jetour T2 Arrives in Kathmandu
The Jetour T2 has arrived in Kathmandu, marking a major step toward the brand’s official entry into Nepal.
Laxmi MotorHub, the automotive division of Laxmi Group, has brought the SUV into Nepal. The company is now preparing for its official October 11, 2026 launch.
The arrival follows several delays. Initially, Jetour planned to showcase the T2 at the NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo. However, customs clearance issues prevented the vehicle from reaching the event.
Later, the company planned to display it at the NADA Auto Show. Unfortunately, the Bhotekoshi flood disrupted the supply route and affected vehicles waiting at the customs yard. Laxmi MotorHub eventually restarted the import process and brought the T2 through the Korala border.
Now, the SUV has reached Kathmandu ahead of its official launch.
Jetour T2 Brings a Rugged PHEV Setup
The Jetour T2 stands out with its boxy and adventure-focused design. More importantly, the SUV combines a petrol engine with electric motors through a plug-in hybrid system.
International versions use a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine with two electric motors. Depending on the version and market, reported output reaches around 265 kW and 610 Nm.
The Nepal launch specification, however, has not yet been officially published. Therefore, buyers should wait for Laxmi MotorHub to confirm the final powertrain details on October 11.
The T2 also uses an all-wheel-drive system, making it more suitable for rough roads and off-road conditions.
Up to 1,200 km Claimed Range
One of the biggest attractions of the Jetour T2 PHEV is its combination of electric and petrol driving.
International versions use an 18.4 kWh battery, while some variants are offered with different battery configurations. Depending on the version, the T2 can deliver around 139 km of electric-only range under NEDC and up to 1,200 km of combined range.
However, another Nepal report lists up to 90 km of NEDC electric range and around 1,100 km of combined range for the expected Nepal version.
Because of these differences, the final Nepal-market range should be confirmed at launch.
220 mm Ground Clearance for Rough Roads
The Jetour T2 has been designed with an SUV-focused stance.
It measures 4,785 mm long, 2,006 mm wide and 1,875 mm tall. Meanwhile, its wheelbase measures 2,800 mm. The SUV also offers around 580 litres of boot space.
Furthermore, reports indicate around 220 mm of ground clearance for the T2.
The exterior features a high bonnet, wide wheel arches and a muscular body. In addition, the SUV gets 20-inch alloy wheels, LED lighting, connected rear lamps and a panoramic glass roof.
As a result, the T2 has a distinctive road presence compared with more conventional family SUVs.
15.6-Inch Screen and Premium Cabin
Inside, the Jetour T2 focuses heavily on technology.
The dashboard features a large 15.6-inch infotainment display along with a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster. Moreover, the cabin gets a 12-speaker audio system for a more premium experience.
Other reported equipment includes:
- Wireless Apple CarPlay
- Android Auto
- Dual-zone climate control
- Electrically adjustable front seats
- Memory function for the front seats
- Heated and ventilated front seats
- Panoramic glass roof
Therefore, the T2 is not positioned only as an off-road-focused SUV. It also aims to provide a comfortable daily driving experience.
Advanced Safety and ADAS
Safety is another important part of the Jetour T2 package.
The SUV comes with several driver-assistance technologies. These include adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, lane-keeping assistance and traffic-jam assist.
Additionally, the T2 gets a 360-degree surround-view camera and a transparent chassis view system. Some Nepal reports also mention a 540-degree camera system.
The safety package includes six airbags, along with front and rear parking sensors.
Consequently, the T2 combines its rugged design with a relatively technology-heavy safety package.

Jetour T2 Price in Nepal
The official Jetour T2 price in Nepal has not been announced yet.
However, current Nepal reports expect the T2 to start at around Rs. 1.55 crore. The final price will depend on the Nepal-specific variant, equipment and taxation.
Therefore, the Rs. 1.55 crore figure should be treated as an expected price, rather than an official retail price.
Laxmi MotorHub is expected to reveal the final pricing and specifications during the October 11 launch.
Jetour T1 Will Also Join the Nepal Lineup
The T2 will reportedly not be the only Jetour model entering Nepal.
Laxmi MotorHub is also preparing to introduce the Jetour T1 PHEV. The smaller SUV will sit below the T2 and give buyers another plug-in hybrid option.
The T1 reportedly uses a 1.5-litre turbocharged plug-in hybrid system producing up to 335 hp and 530 Nm. It is also expected to feature a 26.7 kWh LFP battery and around 117 km of claimed WLTC electric range.
Meanwhile, the T1 will retain Jetour’s adventure-focused styling while offering a slightly smaller footprint.
Jetour Opens a New SUV Option in Nepal
The arrival of the Jetour T2 adds another new name to Nepal’s increasingly competitive SUV market.
Its biggest advantage could be the combination of plug-in hybrid technology, AWD capability, high ground clearance and premium technology. Furthermore, the ability to use electric power for shorter trips while retaining a petrol engine for longer journeys could appeal to Nepali buyers who want flexibility.
However, the final Nepal specification remains important. Buyers still need confirmed details about pricing, battery capacity, range, charging and equipment.
With the official launch scheduled for October 11, those details should become clearer soon.
For now, the arrival of the Jetour T2 in Kathmandu confirms that the long-delayed Jetour Nepal launch is finally moving forward.
