Jaguar Type 01 EV Revealed With Over 1,000 PS Tri-Motor Power

Jaguar Type 01 EV

The Jaguar Type 01 marks a new chapter for the British luxury brand with a fully electric four-door GT, dedicated EV architecture and more than 1,000 PS of tri-motor power.

Jaguar Type 01 EV Marks a New Beginning

Jaguar is entering a new era with the Type 01, its first production model built on a dedicated electric architecture.

The luxury four-door GT is being officially revealed in New York on October 6, 2026. Jaguar has positioned the Type 01 as the first production car of its new generation.

The name itself carries a meaning. According to Jaguar, “Type” connects the model with the brand’s historic performance cars. Meanwhile, “0” represents zero tailpipe emissions, while “1” marks the beginning of a new generation.

As a result, the Type 01 is more than a new electric model. It represents Jaguar’s wider transformation.

Over 1,000 PS From Three Electric Motors

Performance will be one of the biggest highlights of the Jaguar Type 01.

Jaguar has confirmed a tri-motor electric powertrain producing more than 1,000 PS and over 1,300 Nm of torque.

That output places the Type 01 firmly in high-performance luxury EV territory.

However, Jaguar has not yet published the complete production specifications, including the final battery capacity, official range and acceleration figures.

Therefore, more technical details are expected following the full reveal.

Built on Jaguar Electric Architecture

Unlike an existing petrol Jaguar converted into an EV, the Type 01 has been developed around Jaguar’s dedicated Jaguar Electric Architecture (JEA).

This platform allows Jaguar to rethink the proportions, cabin layout and driving experience of its next-generation vehicles.

Furthermore, Jaguar says the Type 01 has been designed, developed and built in the UK.

The dedicated architecture also gives the brand greater freedom to create a low-slung grand tourer with a long and dramatic body.

Four-Seat Luxury GT Interior

Inside, the Type 01 takes a very different approach to traditional Jaguar cabins.

A long central spine runs through the cabin and separates the four seats into individual spaces. Consequently, the Type 01 remains a four-seat GT rather than a conventional five-seat luxury car.

The cabin also features a low driving position, slim dashboard and minimalist controls.

In addition, Jaguar has incorporated brass-inspired details, concealed compartments and technology that appears only when needed.

Digital Rear-View Display and Hidden Technology

Technology is integrated into the Type 01’s interior rather than dominating it.

For example, Jaguar has equipped the GT with a ClearSight Rear View Display positioned at the base of the windscreen. The system replaces the conventional visual role of a traditional rear-view mirror with a digital display.

Meanwhile, the dashboard uses a slim design with a new infotainment system.

The result is a cabin that combines digital technology with a more minimalist appearance.

Jaguar Takes a Radical Design Direction

The Type 01 follows the dramatic design language first previewed by the Jaguar Type 00 concept.

Instead of using the familiar proportions of Jaguar’s previous sedans and sports cars, the new GT features a long, low and wide profile.

Moreover, Jaguar has retained several design ideas from the concept as it moves toward production.

The company is clearly using the Type 01 to establish a new visual identity for future Jaguar vehicles.

Jaguar Type 01 Price

The official price of the Jaguar Type 01 has not been confirmed by Jaguar at the time of writing.

However, reports before the reveal have placed the luxury EV at more than £120,000, with some reports suggesting a price above £130,000 depending on specification.

Jaguar has also not announced a Nepal launch or Nepal pricing.

Therefore, any Nepal price at this stage would only be an estimate.

Jaguar Type 01 Could Redefine the Brand

The Jaguar Type 01 is arriving at a critical moment for the British marque.

Rather than simply adding another EV to its existing lineup, Jaguar is using the model to introduce a completely new design direction, platform and performance strategy.

At the same time, the company is targeting the premium electric GT segment with more than 1,000 PS and a four-seat luxury cabin.

The full reveal should finally answer the biggest remaining questions around its battery, range, acceleration, charging and production specifications.

For Jaguar, however, the message is already clear: the Type 01 is the start of a new electric era.
