NAIMA Auto Show 2026: EV, Hybrid & ICE Vehicles to Be Showcased in Nepal

First, the NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo 2026 will run from August 11 to 16 at Bhrikutimandap. NAIMA says the event will feature more than 55 brands, 51 exhibition stalls, and over 40 new product launches. The exhibition will cover passenger vehicles, two-wheelers, commercial vehicles, EVs, hybrid mobility, and automotive technology.

August 2026 is shaping up to be one of the biggest months for Nepal’s automobile industry. Two major automotive exhibitions will take place in Kathmandu, bringing new electric cars, SUVs, hybrids, petrol vehicles, motorcycles, and mobility technologies under one roof.

Then, the NADA Auto Show 2026 will follow from August 25 to 30, also at Bhrikutimandap Exhibition Hall. NADA describes the event as Nepal’s largest automobile exhibition, with passenger vehicles, EVs, commercial vehicles, two-wheelers, charging infrastructure, and other automotive products.

As a result, Nepali buyers will have an unusually large number of new vehicles to explore this month.

Hybrid & PHEV Vehicles at NAIMA

NAIMA is also bringing hybrid technology into the spotlight. Furthermore, the association has confirmed that the expo will showcase both electric and hybrid mobility solutions.

Major Hybrid Models to Watch

BAIC BJ30 Hybrid is one of the key hybrid vehicles expected to attract attention. The SUV combines a conventional combustion engine with electric assistance while retaining an SUV-focused design.

Jetour T1 PHEV and Jetour T2 PHEV are also expected to add more variety to the electrified lineup.

These plug-in hybrid models could appeal to buyers who want electric driving capability without moving completely away from conventional fuel.

Petrol & ICE Vehicles at NAIMA

Although EVs will dominate much of the attention, NAIMA will also feature conventional vehicles.

Major participating brands include Toyota, Hyundai, Kia, Volkswagen, MG, Nissan, Mahindra, OMODA, JAECOO, iCAUR, Honda, and Proton, among others.

Therefore, buyers who are not ready to switch to an EV will still have plenty of petrol-powered options to explore.

NADA Auto Show 2026: August 25–30

After NAIMA concludes, the automotive spotlight will return to Bhrikutimandap for the NADA Auto Show 2026.

The event will run from August 25 to 30 and will showcase passenger cars, commercial vehicles, EVs, two-wheelers, components, charging infrastructure, and other automotive technologies.

Tata Harrier EV Could Be a Major NADA Highlight

One of the biggest electric SUV attractions could be the Tata Harrier EV.

The electric SUV brings Tata’s Harrier nameplate into the premium EV segment. Moreover, its larger dimensions and SUV-focused design give it a different proposition from the smaller Punch EV.

The Harrier EV could therefore attract buyers looking for a more powerful and spacious electric SUV.

Suzuki e Vitara Brings a Global EV Nameplate to Nepal

The Suzuki e Vitara is another important model to watch.

Suzuki’s first global battery-electric SUV combines the familiar Vitara name with an all-electric powertrain. Meanwhile, its arrival gives buyers another option from a Japanese manufacturer in Nepal’s increasingly competitive EV market.

Yatri P2 Adds a Nepali Electric Two-Wheeler

The NADA show will not only focus on four-wheelers.

The Yatri P2 is expected to attract considerable attention as a locally developed electric motorcycle. Its presence also highlights the growing role of Nepali companies in the country’s electric mobility ecosystem.

NAIMA vs NADA: Which Event Will Have More EVs?

Both exhibitions will have a strong EV presence, but their lineups will differ.

Why August 2026 Matters for Nepal’s Auto Market

August could become a turning point for Nepal’s automobile market.

The country is already seeing intense competition among Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Indian, and European manufacturers. Now, the two major exhibitions will bring many of these brands together within the same month.

For EV buyers, this creates an opportunity to compare vehicles across different price segments. At the same time, hybrid and ICE buyers will still have plenty of choices.

With more than 40 new launches planned for NAIMA alone, August 2026 could become one of the busiest months Nepal’s automotive industry has experienced.

Overall, the combination of NAIMA and NADA makes August the month to watch for anyone interested in new cars, EVs, hybrids, electric scooters, and the future of mobility in Nepal.
