Jetour Nepal Launch Delayed as New Showroom Takes Shape in Kathmandu

Jetour

Jetour is preparing to enter Nepal with new SUVs, while its planned debut has faced delays caused by disruptions along the China–Nepal trade route.

Jetour Prepares to Enter Nepal

Chinese SUV brand Jetour is getting closer to entering the Nepali market. Laxmi Motorhub, under Laxmi Group, is preparing a dedicated Jetour showroom in Thapathali, Kathmandu. However, the company has not announced an official showroom opening date yet.

Jetour had originally planned to introduce its vehicles at the NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo 2026. However, the vehicles did not reach Kathmandu in time. The company later planned to showcase the brand at the NADA Auto Show 2026, but flooding along the Bhotekoshi and Rasuwa corridor caused further delays.

Jetour T1 and T2 Coming to Nepal

The first Jetour models planned for Nepal include the T1 and T2 plug-in hybrid SUVs.

The T1 is a five-seat SUV that combines a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine with a plug-in hybrid system. It uses a 26.7 kWh LFP battery and offers a claimed electric-only range of around 117 km under the WLTC cycle. Its claimed combined range reaches up to 1,200 km.

Meanwhile, the Jetour T2 follows a more rugged SUV design. It is also part of Jetour’s electrified lineup and is expected to target buyers looking for a larger adventure-focused vehicle.

Jetour T1 Focuses on Technology

The T1 comes with several modern features aimed at improving comfort and convenience.

Inside, the SUV gets a 15.6-inch infotainment screen and a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster. It also features a panoramic sunroof and ventilated seats.

Furthermore, the SUV includes several driver-assistance technologies. These include:

  • Level 2 ADAS
  • Adaptive cruise control
  • Lane-keeping assist
  • Autonomous emergency braking
  • 540-degree camera system
  • V2L capability

Jetour T1 Offers 335 hp

The T1 PHEV also focuses on performance.

Its 1.5-litre TGDI plug-in hybrid system produces a claimed 335 hp and 530 Nm. The 26.7 kWh LFP battery supports its electric driving capability.

With a length of 4,705 mm and a 2,800 mm wheelbase, the T1 provides a five-seat cabin with a focus on passenger and luggage space.

A New Jetour Electric SUV Is Also Coming

Jetour is also developing a new compact electric SUV known as the Jetour Tourer.

The model appeared in China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology filings after Jetour previewed it earlier in 2026 as the TX concept at Auto China.

The Tourer measures around 4,475 mm in length with a 2,735 mm wheelbase. Reports indicate that the model could offer single- and dual-motor configurations, although Jetour has not confirmed final battery and range specifications.

However, the Tourer is not currently confirmed for the Nepali market.

Jetour Showroom Takes Shape in Thapathali

Despite the earlier delays, work on Jetour’s Kathmandu showroom is moving forward.

The upcoming showroom in Thapathali is expected to provide a dedicated sales and customer-service point for the brand once Jetour officially enters Nepal.

The showroom development suggests that the company is continuing its plans for Nepal despite the earlier logistics problems.

Jetour Nepal Price and Launch Date

Jetour has not yet announced official Nepal prices or a confirmed launch date for the T1 and T2.

Therefore, current online price estimates should not be treated as official. Buyers will need to wait for Laxmi Motorhub to announce the final models, specifications and pricing.

Jetour’s Global Lineup Continues to Expand

Jetour currently offers a wide range of SUVs across different markets. Its global lineup includes models such as the T1, T2, X50, X70, X90 and G700, with both conventional and electrified powertrains available depending on the market.

In addition, Jetour continues to expand its plug-in hybrid lineup as demand for electrified SUVs grows.

Jetour Could Add More Competition to Nepal’s SUV Market

Jetour’s planned Nepal entry could add another Chinese SUV brand to Nepal’s increasingly competitive automotive market.

For now, the T1 and T2 remain the key models expected for Nepal, while the new Tourer EV remains an international model without confirmed local availability.

With the Thapathali showroom taking shape, more details about Jetour’s Nepal launch, pricing and model lineup could emerge once the company announces its official plans.
